SWEET ADELINES CELEBRATE WITH JUEN 7 ICE CREAM SOCIAL

The Girardot Rose Chorus of Sweet Adelines International will celebrate its 15th year with an ice cream social June 7.

The event is scheduled from 2-4 p.m. at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Tickets are $5 in advance or at the door. The public is invited to attend.

The chapter was chartered with 26 members May 21, 1983. Jane Volkerding was the first president and Jim Henry, a music major at Southeast University, directed the chorus in its Region 5 debut competition performance in Peoria, Ill. in 1984.

Charter members who continue to sing with the chorus are Sharon Schwarz, Jo Ann Bock, Judy Hanebrink and current director Irene Stevens.
