SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A Springfield couple with nearly 60 cats on their property faces animal abuse charges.
Allen Dwayne Arnold and Tammy Lyn Arnold each face one count of misdemeanor animal abuse. The charges were filed last week.
The Springfield News-Leader reported that about 30 cats were taken from the property and euthanized. The other living cats were too wild or scared to be caught. Another 30 cats were allegedly found dead.
The Arnolds had apparently moved from the property and left the cats.
