A 42-year-old woman and 33-year-old man are being sought by Cape Girardeau police in connection with a series of armed robberies.

Delores Johnson Wright and Eric C. Thomas, both of Cape Girardeau, are suspects in five armed robberies that occurred on the streets between May 10 and Sunday, police Cpl. Rick Schmidt said.

Wright is charged with three counts of first-degree robbery, while Thomas is charged with receiving stolen property.

The robberies involved a woman approaching strangers to ask for directions followed by a man wearing a ski mask carrying a handgun. None of the victims was injured.

Locations and times of the robberies varied from parked cars to a trailer park and from late night to early morning.

In court records, police Cpl. Don Perry said Wright and Thomas attempted to sell a Nokia cellular phone and a Fossil brand watch to a man about noon on Sunday in the no-hundred block of North Benton Street. Both items, valued at approximately $200, were stolen in an armed robbery just before midnight on Saturday.

A man also told police he saw Wright and Thomas sell the stolen phone, Perry said.

No other stolen property has been recovered, Schmidt said.

Two other robbery victims identified Wright from a photograph taken of the suspect when she was arrested on an unrelated charge, Schmidt said.

Thomas has not been identified by any of the victims as the man wearing a ski mask and threatening them with a gun.

Wright's current address is listed at 514 Olive St. Police do not have an address for Thomas.

Bonds for both suspects are set at $500,000 cash only.

Police request that anyone with information about Thomas or Wright should contact Southeast Missouri CrimeStoppers at 332-0500 or Cape Girardeau police at 335-6621. Anyone giving information leading to an arrest could receive a cash reward from CrimeStoppers.
