The suspect arrested in a Cape Girardeau adult abduction case appeared in court Tuesday in Grundy County, Illinois.
Jeffery Lazier, 43, of Coal City, Illinois, was taken into custody May 15 in Yorkville, Illinois.
He is accused of kidnapping a woman from Cape County Park South in Cape Girardeau on May 12 and sexually assaulting her.
Charges filed against Lazier in Cape Girardeau County include first-degree robbery, felony kidnapping, armed criminal action, felony first-degree sodomy and felony first-degree sexual abuse.
His bond is set at $250,000 cash only.
On Tuesday, Lazier signed a waiver of extradition, consenting to return to Cape Girardeau County.
With the waiver signed, Cpl. Darin Hickey of the Cape Girardeau Police Department said, bringing him back to Missouri is "just a matter of scheduling."
"The sheriff's department will make those arrangements to get him picked up and brought back to the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Office," he said. "... Obviously, for officer safety reasons, we do not release when that extradition will happen."
Online court records show a status hearing for Lazier is scheduled for June 4 in Grundy County.
