A suspect charged with third-degree assault in the alleged off-campus beating of a Southeast Missouri State University junior posted his $35,000 bond Thursday, according to Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney Morley Swingle.
Antonio Garritano, 19, of Jackson, also charged with first-degree burglary, also requested a change of judge at his hearing Thursday before Associate Circuit Judge Gary A. Kamp.
Three other men allegedly involved in the beating of Blake Carlton, 21, also appeared before Kamp.
Derek Gohn, 19, of Bridgeton, Mo., and Pili Showers, 21, of Cape Girardeau, charged with first-degree burglary, both waived their initial arraignment and had preliminary hearings set. Gohn is set to appear at 10 a.m. March 3 and Showers at 9:30 a.m. March 8.
In the case against Jared Goodson, 22, of Cape Girardeau, Kamp approved a change of judge.
Bond for Gohn, Goodson and Showers is set at $10,000, cash only.
All of the men, according to a probable cause affidavit, were placed at the scene of the assault, 1325 Dunklin St.
