A suspect in a May shooting in Cape Girardeau pleaded guilty Monday.
Dante Criddle entered guilty pleas on one count each of first-degree assault and armed criminal action.
Judge Benjamin Lewis followed the state's recommendation in sentencing Criddle to seven years in the Missouri Department of Corrections on the assault charge and three years on the armed criminal action charge to run consecutively.
Lewis also revoked Criddle's probation and sentenced him to five years on that violation. That term will run concurrent to the other terms.
Officers arrested Criddle after a shooting May 17 at Ranney Park in Cape Girardeau.
Police responding to the report of shots fired found a man with gunshot wounds in his lower abdomen and leg. The man was conscious, alert and talking when he was found.
Criddle had a few brushes in the law in the past. Online court records show several past charge, including distribution of marijuana, domestic assault and resisting or interfering with arrest.
