A man was in custody Saturday night after a police chase through Cape Girardeau where the suspect ran one car off the road and crashed into several parked cars. According the police radio reports, a driver in a Chevrolet Cavalier ran from officers about 9:50 p.m. on Highway 177 after failing to yield. The chase continued on Lexington Avenue, where the suspect ran at least one car off the road, and finally crashed into several parked vehicles...

A man was in custody Saturday night after a police chase through Cape Girardeau where the suspect ran one car off the road and crashed into several parked cars.

According the police radio reports, a driver in a Chevrolet Cavalier ran from officers about 9:50 p.m. on Highway 177 after failing to yield. The chase continued on Lexington Avenue, where the suspect ran at least one car off the road, and finally crashed into several parked vehicles.

The suspect exited the crashed car and ran away, but he was apprehended a few minutes later in the 1000 block of Village Drive.

Cape Girardeau County sheriff’s deputies and Missouri State Highway Patrol also investigated.
