Cape Girardeau police arrested a man Tuesday in connection with a stabbing reported Sunday night outside JD's Quick Stop convenience store at 1101 William St.

Jackie T. Robinson, 29, of Cape Girardeau, was charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

He remains in custody at the Cape Girardeau County Jail in Jackson in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Police said Robinson was accused of stabbing a 45-year-old Cape Girardeau resident Sunday night outside the convenience store. The victim had left the store, then returned inside shortly afterward to tell the clerk of the assault.

The victim's name and present condition were not released by police.
