The JCPenney Styling Salon, one of the company's top 25 salons nationally, is winner of a 1992 Mazda Miata, which will be presented to one of the salon's employees next week.
"Our salon was picked during a random drawing of eligible salons for the new car," said Martha Baker, manager of the local salon. "Qualifications for the drawing were based on sales and service during the first half of the year, through July."
The salon, which opened in the JCPenney store at West Park Mall in 1981 with 11 stations and 10 hairstylists, now has 32 stations, 42 stylists, and three receptionists.
In sales, the salon has been ranked number one in the company's Kansas City Metro District several times. It is among the top four in the Southwest Region comprised of eight states, and is among the top 25 salons in the nation.
Ten stylists and two receptionists at the local salon who have reached certain sales objectives are eligible for the local drawing Friday at 1 p.m.
Those eligible include stylists Susan Petevis, Marsha Williamson, Janet Boyer, Karen Miget, Marilyn Collier, Brenda Hanners, Jean Williams, Pam Benson, Bonni Avery, and Mary Niedbalski, and receptionists Dianne Lough and Brenda Bollinger.
