Terry was a senior and Probst was a sophomore at Cape Central High School.

The amount raised also included contributions from several of the school's clubs, said Julia Jorgensen, a Cape Central High School teacher.

She said the fund-raising effort was led by high school teachers Dixie Eifert and Regina Johnson, both of whom taught Probst and Terry.
