Seven students from Cape Girardeau schools earned honors in April at the regional math contest in Sikeston.
Three students from A.J. Schultz School placed in the Top 10 in the seventh-grade individual competition. They were Allison Bryant, first place; James Haskell, fifth place; and Sarah Brown, sixth place.
Four students from Cape Central Junior High School placed in the Top 10 in the eighth-grade individual competitions. Greg Miller placed fifth and Beth Bishop placed seventh in the algebra contest.
Laura Crump earned sixth place and Mindy Hoffman gained 10th place in a non-algebra contest.
The Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics sponsored the seventh annual competition for seventh- and eighth-grade students.
Teacher sponsors for the mathematics competition were Myrnita Grantham and Shelby Shell.
