Lauren E. Young of Jackson has been awarded a Regents' Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 1998-1999 academic year.
The Regent's Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who have achieved an Enhanced ACT score of 27 or SAT score of 1220. Students must also have a high school grade point average of 3.5 or graduate in the top 10 percent of their class.
The award covers incidental fees up to 32 hours per academic year for up to four consecutive years.
Young is the daughter of Larry and Debbie Young.
Amy M. Shafer of Thebes, Ill., has been awarded a University Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 1998-1999 academic year.
The scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who rank at least in the top 20 percent of their class and score 24 on the Enhanced ACT or 1110 on the SAT. The award is worth $2,500 per academic year.
Shafer is a 1998 graduate of Egyptian High School and is the daughter of Terry Shafer of Thebes, Ill., and Jim Shafer of Jackson.
Brian P. Burlbaugh of Scott City has been awarded a Regents' Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 1998-1999 academic year.
Burlbaugh is a 1998 graduate of Scott City High School and is the son of Conrad and Yvonne Burlbaugh.
Janna C. Bratton, a 1998 graduate of Notre Dame High School, has been awarded a Regents' Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 1998-1999 academic year.
Bratton is the daughter of Patricia Trickey of Cape Girardeau.
Darcy A. Rigdon, a 1998 graduate of Cape Central High School, has been awarded a Regents' Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University.
Rigdon is the daughter of Denis and Jan Rigdon.
Jod D. Starzinger, a 1998 graduate of Jackson High School, has been awarded a President's Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University.
The President's Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who score 24 on the Enhanced ACT or 1110 on the SAT. Students also achieve a high school grade point average of 3.5 or rank in the top 20 percent of their graduating class. The award is worth $1,500 per academic year.
Starzinger is the son of Dennis and Rhonda Starzinger.
Sean M.D. Winstead, a 1998 graduate of Jackson High School, has been awarded a President's Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University.
Winstead is the son of Elaine and Rodney Carlson of Jackson and Dean Winstead of Cape Girardeau.
