Danny Robert, an eighth-grade student at St. Mary's School, placed first in Region 12 and tied for first in the nation in the Algebra I division in a national math contest.

The St. Mary's School team placed fourth in the nation.

Robert also placed first in the state on the Missouri Math League for eighth grade. He has been selected to be one of thirty members of the Missouri state team which will compete in the American Regions Math League competition on May 30, 1998, at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
