Night markets are a tradition in Malaysia, said Genesh Kathiravelu, a Southeast student and chairman of the event.

Proceeds from the silent auction will go toward funding scholarships for Malaysian students, said Kathiravelu.

Books of coupons will be sold at the door. The coupons can be used to purchase food from the 10 to 12 food stalls that will be set up. The coupon books will sell for $2, $5 and $10.
