Health promotion students from Southeast Missouri State University held their last seminar in a series that began in February, entitled Healthy Weight, Healthy Heart 2001. This program was made possible through generous financial support from HealthLink.

All seminars were held at Main Street Fitness, 410 W. Main St. The title of this last lecture was "Stronger Than Ever," with those present learning the benefits and guidelines of resistance training, the "basic twelve" exercises, the advantages of keeping a training log and the benefits of flexibility.

Information on the lecture, diagrams with instruction on how to exercise properly and wonderful recipes were provided to take home for all those present.

Meghan Davis and Nikki Wilson demonstrated some exercises, and the class participated as well. A T-shirt was given away to those who had attended five or more lectures. Books on stretching and cooking light were also given away to those who had answered questions correctly.

Refreshments were served.
