STUDENT WINS SCHOLARSHIP

Matthew Strohmeyer of Cape Girardeau is a recipient of the Thomas C. Oakley I and II Memorial Scholarship for the 1996-97 academic year at Quincy University in Quincy, Ill.

The scholarship is awarded to students who have distinguished themselves by participating in extracurricular and in-school citizenship activities.

Strohmeyer was also named a November Student of the Month for the university.

Strohmeyer, a senior biological sciences major, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald F. Strohmeyer of Cape Girardeau. Following graduation, he plans to attend dental school.
