STUDENT OF THE YEAR NAMED FOR JACKSON OPTIMIST CLUB
JACKSON -- Amanda Allmon, a senior at Jackson High School, has been chosen by the faculty of Jackson High School as the Student of the Year for the Jackson Noon Optimist Club. She received a $100 savings bond. Allmon is vice president of the student body, vice president of the student council, a member of National Honor Society, Outstanding Athlete Award recipient, four-year letter winner in softball, state qualifier in speech and debate, and a member of scholastic honor roll...

Allmon is vice president of the student body, vice president of the student council, a member of National Honor Society, Outstanding Athlete Award recipient, four-year letter winner in softball, state qualifier in speech and debate, and a member of scholastic honor roll.
After graduation, Allmon plans to attend college and become a physician. She is the daughter of Roger and Linda Allmon of Jackson.
