Kate Devaney, 10, recently won the first place award in the 61st annual art show sponsored by the Woman's Club of Paducah, Ky. Devaney entered in the fourth- and fifth-grade division. Kate Devaney, 10, recently won the first place award in the 61st annual art show sponsored by the Woman's Club of Paducah, Ky. Devaney entered in the fourth- and fifth-grade division. She attends Alma Schrader Elementary School.

Devaney, who studies with Brenda Seyer in Cape Girardeau, entered "Bubba," a mixed media portrait of her family dog, a Labrador retriever.

She is the daughter of Catherine and Michael Devaney.
