STUDENT EARNS SIZABLE SCHOLARSHIP TO SIU-C

Taryn N. Johnson of Cape Girardeau is one of four students to receive a sizable scholarship for graduate study at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale this fall.

Johnson was awarded the Morris Fellowship, a renewable scholarship that includes free tuition. If renewed, the scholarship could be worth well over $14,000.

Johnson, 22, is a native of Hannibal and graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a 4 grade-point average.

She is an honors student and hopes to teach at the university level or work at a museum after earning her doctorate.
