A cluster of thunderstorms is expected to move across Southeast Missouri this week and fade in severity by around Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Paducah, Ky.

Storms accompanied by damaging winds and heavy rainfall are likely after 3 a.m. Monday, moving southeasterly.

More storms may continue to pepper the region throughout the afternoon and evening today, and the cycle could repeat itself beginning late tonight into Tuesday morning, the weather service said.

A cold front is expected to move in by Friday.
