A severe thunderstorm warning was issued at 4:29 for Alexander, Pulaski and southern Johnson counties in Illinois. A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for most of Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois until 11 p.m.At 4:25 p.m., radar indicated storm with winds in excess of 60 miles per hour was located 11 miles northeast of Tamms and moving southeast at 25 miles an hour. ...

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued at 4:29 for Alexander, Pulaski and southern Johnson counties in Illinois. A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for most of Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois until 11 p.m.

At 4:25 p.m., radar indicated storm with winds in excess of 60 miles per hour was located 11 miles northeast of Tamms and moving southeast at 25 miles an hour. Locations in the warning area include Tamms, Vienna and Karnak.

The severe thunderstorm watch covers all of Southesast Missouri, including Cape Girardeau, Scott, Perry and Bolllinger counties, and Southern Illinois, including Alexander, Union and Pulaski counties.

At 4:40 p.m. a band of strong storms was sweeping through the region heading  generally southeast. The line extended from east of Carbondale, Ill. to Poplar Bluff, Mo.

A second line of storms was in the St. Louis area, also moving southeast.
