Potential River Campus patrons excited about the possibility that "STOMP" will be a part of the inaugural season should keep in mind that the performing art event is tentative.

On March 28 the Southeast Missourian reported that "STOMP" will make a stop at the River Campus, playing the 900-plus-seat performing arts center there sometime during the 2007-2008 season. On Wednesday an editorial published in the Southeast Missourian also discussed "STOMP" coming to the River Campus.

However "STOMP" is not a confirmed booking for the River Campus season said Robert Cerchio, River Campus assistant director.

"The booking of 'STOMP' has been a delicate negotiation from the outset," Cerchio said via e-mail Wednesday. "This is an extremely popular show and the demand is high. Unfortunately, since the university had to get the River Campus season ticket brochure to the printer, and since STOMP still may not confirm for several weeks, we just couldn't include it in our 07-08 brochure. We are still in negotiation, and there is at best a 50-50 chance that STOMP will book. It's just that we can't confirm it right now. If STOMP does eventually book, we'll announce it as a special event, and anyone who orders Touring Series season tickets will receive the opportunity to purchase STOMP tickets in advance of the general public."

The information was initially reported in the Southeast Missourian, and printed again Wednesday, without mentioning the tentative nature of the "STOMP" date.
