Stolen car submerged in Mississippi River

CHESTER, Ill. -- A vehicle stolen out of St. Louis was found submerged Wednesday in the Mississippi River.

The vehicle was partially submerged along the river bank near Chester, Ill., which is located about 15 miles north of Perryville, Mo., according to a release from the Chester Police Department. No one was inside the car when found.

Anyone with information on the investigation was urged to call the police department, 618-826-5454.
