No agreement was reached on property the Cape Girardeau Board of Education is interested in for a proposed vocational-technical school.
A discussion was held Thursday during a closed meeting, but Superintendent Dan Tallent said negotiations are ongoing. The board meets again Monday night when another closed meeting is possible to continue discussion on the property.
The Monday meeting begins at 6 o'clock at Central Junior High School.
The school board is looking for about 80 acres of land to be the site for a proposed vocational-technical school and later a high school.
Voters will decide April 1 if the school board can raise the property tax levy 69 cents to fund construction of the proposed vocational school and a new elementary school. The elementary school would be built at Sprigg and Bertling on property the school district owns.
In addition, money from the tax increase would fund renovations of the district's other buildings and implementation of new programs outlined in a master plan.
In open session, the school board approved a report on the school district's compliance with Americans with Disability Act. A discussion about the report is on the agenda for Monday's meeting.
