Two area students won top honors Tuesday during the 48th annual Southeast Missouri Regional Science Fair competition at the Show Me Center.

Wesley Hargraves, a junior from South Pemiscot High School in Steele, Mo., and Chelsea Grigery, a junior from Sikeston High School, were chosen as top winners. They received an all-expense paid trip to Portland, Ore., to compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair this summer. Clay Lincoln, a sophomore from Sikeston High School, was chosen as an alternate.

The top winner in the eighth-grade division was Alison Beussink, a student at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School in Cape Girardeau. She also will attend the ISEF competition as an observer.
