The Delta Queen Steamboat Co. on Wednesday corrected its statement that the company had only one riverboat stop scheduled in Cape Girardeau next year.
In addition to an annual stop during the annual New Orleans-to-St. Louis riverboat race -- when two boats will dock here July 3 -- there are five other dockings scheduled by the company. There will be eight this year.
Jim Lida, director of corporate communications for the Delta Queen Steamboat Co., said the official itinerary for the boats was misplaced Tuesday during a move of the company's headquarters from New Orleans to Miami. That caused a spokesperson to make the error.
"It was just one of those things," said Lida. "We were in the process of moving Tuesday, and things were hectic."
The news is still the same for Paducah, Ky., on the Ohio River, where the schedule was cut from 16 to eight dockings.
