Ste. Genevieve woman killed in Tuesday afternoon crash

A Ste. Genevieve woman died Tuesday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 55 west of St. Mary, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Nichole Roark, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the crash, which happened about 3:10 p.m. near Route J. Roark was driving northbound in a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire when her vehicle crossed the median and struck a southbound tractor trailer, according to a crash report. The Sunfire was destroyed. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
