Statement from Jacque Waller's family on charges against Clay Waller

The family of Jacque Waller put out this statement on Monday, April 23, 2012, regarding the charging of her husband, Clay Waller, with her murder.

This morning, Morley Swingle, Prosecuting Attorney for Cape Girardeau County (MO) filed first degree murder charges against Clay Waller in the disappearance of his wife, Jacque, last June 1. He is being held on a one million dollar bond.

Speaking on behalf of his family, Jacque's father, Stan Rawson said, "There is a bit of relief in knowing that charges have been brought against Clay Waller. Perhaps he will finally feel compelled to reveal the location of our daughter and sibling, mother and friend, Jacque Waller. We are extremely grateful to the law enforcement team that has spent countless hours investigating Jacque's disappearance as they put together their case against Clay. The case is now in the hands of the prosecuting attorney, and we are confident that we will now finally get justice for our girl. Over the last ten months we been the recipients of amazing support from people around the world; we are especially thankful for their many prayers and good wishes and ask that those continue. What we want more than anything, however, is to have Jacque home with her family and finally at rest. We ask that people respect our privacy as the case against Waller unfolds. It is now in the hands of the courts."

Jacque Waller went missing last June 1, 2011, after meeting her estranged spouse, Clay Waller, at their divorce attorney's office. Her abandoned car was subsequently found near the Fruitland, Missouri, exit on I-55. Since then hundreds of hours have been spent by both law enforcement and volunteers combing Cape Girardeau County searching for Waller and evidence in the case. Waller was 39 at the time of her disappearance and had just made arrangements to move to Farmington, Missouri with her triplets, then five years old. Since that time, they have been living with Jacque's sister and brother-in-law who have temporary custody of the children.

Waller is currently serving five years on federal charges for making Internet threats against Jacque's sister, Cheryl Rawson Brennecke.
