Cape Girardeau Mayor Jay Knudtson and Chamber of Commerce president and CEO John Mehner will lead the annual "State of the City" town hall meeting Friday.

The forum will take place at 8 a.m. Friday at the First Friday Coffee program held every month at the Show Me Center.

Prior to the forum, a continental breakfast will be served starting at 7 a.m.

Knudtson will handle issues including Cape Girardeau's comprehensive planning process, budget, and economic and community growth.

Mehner will address the state and federal minimum wage increase, initiatives headed by the Convention and Visitors Bureau, and marketing strategies for both the chamber and the CVB.

The two speakers will lead half the time, and the rest will be reserved for audience members who want to voice opinions.
