Since Abraham Lincoln's birthday falls on Saturday, state and county offices in Missouri will be closed Friday.
Federal and municipal offices and most area schools will not observe the holiday. Banks, financial institutions and post offices will be open and mail will be delivered.
In Illinois, Friday will be a statewide holiday; however the Shawnee, Egyptian and Mounds-Meridian school districts will be in session because of dismissals for bad weather.
License fee offices in Cape Girardeau and Jackson will be closed Friday. The Cape Girardeau office will be open Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon; the Jackson fee office will be open Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-noon.
The Chaffee license fee office will be closed Friday and Saturday.
There will be no driver's license or commercial driver's license examinations or road skills tests given on Friday in Cape Girardeau. Testing will resume Monday at the Jackson National Guard Armory.
