State Auditor Tom Schweich will speak at the next meeting of the Southeast Missouri Pachyderm Club at 7 p.m. Thursday at Dexter Bar-B-Que, 326 S. Broadview St.

According to a news release, Schweich practiced law for more than 20 years in St. Louis at the law firm of Bryan Cave LLP, and began his public-service career investigating the 1993 siege of the Branch Davidian compound inWaco, Texas, as part of the Special Counsel investigation. Schweich also has a long history working as a diplomat. During his service in the State Department, he led diplomatic missions to approximately 30 countries.
