Organizations interested in applying for Missouri Arts Council funds should plan to attend one of the free grant information workshops titled "The Art of Getting Money" that will be conducted throughout the state in January.
Participants will learn the latest information about grant guidelines, application forms, what's new, what's different, and who's eligible for MAC's grant programs. The workshops will feature tips and suggestions, information on MAC grant application processes, and opportunities for questions. Though the workshops are free, reservations are required.
To register for the workshops call or e-mail Rebecca Fulgham at 334-9233 or artscape@clas.net. The workshop will be held at the Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts, 32 N. Main St., Cape Girardeau, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Jan. 18.
The Missouri Arts Council -- the state's grant-making agency for the arts -- provides approximately $2 million in assistance to not-for-profit organizations throughout Missouri. A division of the Missouri Department of Economic Development, MAC is the second oldest state-funded arts agency in the country. Established in 1965 to encourage and stimulate the growth, development and appreciation of the arts in Missouri, the MAC board consists of 15 volunteers from across the state who are appointed by the governor. The board meets regularly to provide direction in policy making and program oversight.
Other workshops will be held in Columbia, Park Hills, Rolla, St. Louis, Springfield, Clinton, Kansas City, St. Joseph, Trenton, Kirksville, Hannibal and Joplin. For more information on workshops at these locations, call (866) 407-4752.
