Hosted by U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson of Cape Girardeau, the event is being described as a meet-and-eat. The event will be held at Emerson's campaign headquarters at 616 Broadway. Martin, an aide to former governor Matt Blunt, and Livingston County prosecutor Adam Warren are competing in the August Republican primary for the chance to challenge Democratic incumbent Chris Koster.

Martin, a St. Louis lawyer who dropped a congressional campaign to run for attorney general, was last in Cape Girardeau in February, when he participated in an hourlong discussion with local Republicans.
