STAGE ONE PUPIL EARNS SCHOLARSHIP

Trish Garmon, an instructor trainee at Stage One, has been nominated for the Eva Rust Scholarship Fund.

For more than 50 years, Rust went to the Cape Girardeau Beauty School, now called Stage One, to get a manicure and to have her hair done.

Manager Mary Jane Ervin did her hair as a student at the school. After Rust's death, she started a scholarship fund in her honor.

The $500 scholarship is offered to students at the school. Garmon, 20, is a 1995 graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School. She is the daughter of May Garmon, a 1989 graduate of Stage One.
