ST. LOUIS (AP) -- St. Louis police are searching for the driver of a black Honda Civic that allegedly tried to run down a police officer and the officer's horse.
It happened Monday in Forest Park. Police say suspects in the car were approaching pedestrians, asking them for money. The mounted police officer asked the man to pull over. Instead, he sped away, narrowly missing the officer and her horse.
The officer on horseback gave chase. One person jumped out of the car and was taken into custody. The driver got away. Two women were also in the Civic.
Authorities say the driver, when caught, faces multiple charges, including assault of a police officer.
