St. Louis police board: The police chief is out
ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis police board announced late Friday that it unanimously accepted police chief Joe Mokwa's offer to retire. Board president Chris Goodson announced after that the chief formally offered to end his 37-year-career with the department. The news comes amid an inquiry into the use of vehicles at the city's impound yard, both by officers and Mokwa's daughter. Mokwa had been accused of not being completely honest with investigators. The chief had said he's done nothing wrong.
