ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A St. Louis mother manages to safely get her seven children out of their burning home. Haunte McLaurie says she woke up early Friday because her 8-month-old fell out of bed. A short time later, she smelled smoke and realized her three-story home was on fire...

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A St. Louis mother manages to safely get her seven children out of their burning home.

Haunte McLaurie says she woke up early Friday because her 8-month-old fell out of bed. A short time later, she smelled smoke and realized her three-story home was on fire.

She quickly ran to the second and third floors and got the children out. No one was hurt.

Investigators believe it was an electrical fire. The fire happened soon after the earthquake centered in southern Illinois was felt in St. Louis, but authorities do not believe the quake was a factor in the fire.
