ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A St. Louis-area health care system is slashing 120 jobs, many of them upper-level management
KSDK-TV reported the layoffs at St. Louis-based SSM Health Care, citing memos sent to SSM staffers on Monday.
The station reports that 75 management positions, including vice presidents, managers and supervisors, have been eliminated throughout the system.
In addition, 45 jobs were slashed at SSM St. Mary's. The health care group includes seven St. Louis-area hospitals.
SSM says the cuts were needed as it streamlines and restructures its hospital organization.
