More than 2,500 area school children are expected to converge on the Show Me Center Friday for a program designed to introduce them to the art of ballet.
The 12:30 p.m. program sponsored by Biokyowa Incorporated will be conducted by members of the Saint Louis Ballet.
The ballet is presenting the "Nutrcracker" at 8 that evening at the Show Me Center.
The children's program will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the production of a major theatrical touring show. Basic dance moves, costuming and the history of ballet will be discussed.
Biokyowa, a Cape Girardeau company that produces an additive for poultry and swine feed, also has provided tickets to the "Nutcracker" to VIP Industries, a workshop for people who have developmental disabilities.
