Womancare, the breast cancer screening program at St. Francis Medical Center, has qualified for a three-year accreditation by the American College of Radiology.

St. Francis Oncology Patient Care Manager Marilyn Groshong said the accreditation means that Womancare has met a variety of requirements including a peer review evaluation of Womancare's staff qualifications, mammography equipment, quality control programs, image quality and breast dose.

Womancare's mammography technicians include Padge Haman, Linda Raper and Ruth Meddings.

Womancare is among 2,100 mammography facilities nationwide to be accredited by the American College of Radiology.
