St. Francis Medical Center's children's health series continues this spring with seminars on first aid, Lyme disease, pediatric basic life support and health tips for those who care for children.
The first program, "Taking Care of Children Means Taking Care of Yourself" is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 16 in the St. Francis Health & Education Centre. The free seminar will focus on health information for those who care for children.
"Care givers must be healthy and feel good in order to effectively take care of children," explained nurse Kathy Casteel. "This program will provide information on a variety of health issues and will explain how an adult's health problems can affect child care."
Free blood pressure screenings will be available at 6 p.m., prior to the 7 p.m. program. Cholesterol and blood sugar checks will also be available for a small fee.
Other programs include: Lyme disease update on March 25, six-hour pediatric basic life support course on April 15 and 22, and first aid tips for common summer emergencies on May 4.
