St. Francis Medical Center recently recognized 150 employees at the medical center's annual service awards banquet. The banquet at the Drury Lodge was held in conjunction with National Hospital Week.

The St. Francis Board of Directors presented service pins and other commemorative items to St. Francis employees who had reached five, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 35-year service milestones. St. Francis Human Resources Director Bob Owen said the 150 employees honored had worked at St. Francis for a combined 1,445 years.

Ambulatory Service Co-Leader Marilyn Curtis received the medical center's third annual leadership award. The award recognizes a member of the hospital's middle-management team for outstanding service and leadership.

One employee, sterile processing tech Patricia Ford of Cape Girardeau was recognized for reaching a 35-year employment milestone. Ford has been a St. Francis employee since September 1959.

Four employees were recognized for attaining 25 years of service. They were Jacque Aden of McClure, Ill., Barbara Diebold of Kelso and Sister Marie Felter and Alice Vandeven, both of Cape Girardeau. All began working at the old St. Francis Hospital on Good Hope street in 1969.

Nine employees were honored for their 20 years of service. They were Karen Benefield, Iris Preusser, Linda Dickey, Karen Mangels, Dale Rauh, Peggy Rauh, Linda Schrader, Elma Slaten and Dottie Worley.
