Though still predominantly of German origin, present St. Augustine students learn their 3 R's, especially about living out their Catholic Faith, and much more, in an atmosphere much removed from that of their predecessors. Grades one through eight are housed in an attractive brick building dating from 1974. The building consists of eight classrooms, a secretary's office, a principal's office, a teachers' workroom and lounge, an AV and computer room, a kitchen, a gymnasium which also serves as a cafeteria, and in the near future, a mobile unit will house the library and music room. Large playground areas surround the school providing ample space for outdoor activities.

But physical structures alone do not make a school. St. Augustine School offers quality education in the basic subjects with extra curricular activities such as National Geographic, Geography Bee, St. Jude's Math-a-Thon, Book Fairs, various Math, Art and Essay contests, basketball, volleyball, soccer, cheerleading, Brownies, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Safety Patrol.

With an enrollment of 143 students and 8 teachers, volunteers assist St. Augustine's to carry out its mission statement namely, the complete Christian formation of its students. They serve as Room mothers, Librarians, Teacher aides, Cafeteria helpers and also they assist with the Sports Program, Fun activities, and the Health Services.
