SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A southwestern Missouri police officer is recovering after a colleague accidentally used a Taser on him.
The Springfield News-Leader reported officers Thursday stopped a vehicle and the suspect resisted arrest. One officer deployed his Taser and the other inadvertently moved between the suspect and the Taser.
A police spokeswoman said the officer suffered a moderate head injury and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The officer’s name, and information about his condition, were not released.
The suspect fled the scene, but he was quickly arrested and is in jail for resisting arrest and two outstanding warrants.
