Spring storms spread across Southeast Missouri Sunday afternoon and evening. Several severe storm warnings and watches were issued by the National Weather Service in Paducah, Ky.
No tornadoes touched ground in the region, but a funnel cloud was spotted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol near Sikeston at 7:15 p.m. An earlier storm cell moved through Stoddard County into parts of Cape Girardeau and Scott counties before weakening.
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the Bootheel region about 6:30 p.m. A thunderstorm watch was issued for the surrounding areas; it remained in effect until 11 p.m. Sunday.
Little damage was reported to area sheriff's departments other than hail and heavy rains.
