CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The eighth annual Spring Sports & Recreation Show is set Feb. 7-9 at the SIU Arena in Carbondale.
Seminars will be given by several local experts, including Bruce Ritter, "Black Powder Firearms;" Fred Washburn, "Bass Fishing and Local Lakes;" and Larry Addison, "Hunting Whitetails and Demonstration of New Deer Hunting Products."
A special seminar, "Anyone Can Fish," will be presented by Dave Reynolds and will include techniques for disabled individuals who are interested in fishing.
This year's show will also feature the American Fishing Institute's fishing simulator, a 2,000-gallon aquarium. The Southern Illinois Hunting and Retriever Club will also return with prized hunting dogs.
Show hours are: Feb. 7, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Feb. 8, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Feb. 9, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults. Children under 12 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
