JACKSON -- The city's annual Spring Clean Up/Fix Up Week will be May 4-8.
Residents can leave almost anything at curbside for pickup. Large appliances will be picked up for a small charge.
"These are things that the trash people wouldn't ordinarily pick up," Mayor Paul Sander said.
In other business at Monday night's meeting of the Board of Aldermen, the board:
-- Established Lateral Sewer District No. 2R3 in Grandview Acres. The new 92.5-acre district will provide services to one landowner and the new school under construction.
-- Approved placing a stop sign on West Lane at Orchard Drive.
-- Approved an agreement with the Cape Girardeau Area Industrial Recruitment Association to help promote the East/West Highway Project linking Paducah, Ky., and Van Buren.
-- Approved the transfer of the city's cable communications franchise from TCI Cablevision of Missouri Inc. to Falcon Communications. The transfer was necessitated by the merger of Falcon with TCI announced last December.
