The annual Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts Spring Arts and Crafts Fair has been reorganized as a Spring Arts Festival.
"Show Me the Arts" will include live performances, fine arts and craft exhibitions with hourly attendance prize drawings. The event will be held April 11 and 12 at the Show Me Center.
More than 200 booths are available in the Show Me Center's main floor and lobby. A crowd of 3,000 to 5,000 is expected. Booth spaces for exhibitors are $40 to $80, including one table free of charge. Additional tables are $5.
All arts and crafts must be hand made by the exhibitor, and organizations and clubs are not permitted to sell. Spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Membership in the arts council is required.
To receive an application, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Show Me the Arts, Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts, P.O. Box 901, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63702-0901.
Admission to the fair is $1 for adults, and children under 18 will be admitted free.
Proceeds from the fair are used to match tax dollars to provide educational opportunities and arts events.
