This year's Region 9 Missouri Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run is scheduled to begin about 8:15 a.m., at Interstate 55 and South Kingshighway, near Plants Plus, officer Joey Hann said. It follows Kings­highway and will conclude about 9:15 a.m. at Center Junction.

The department and several other local agencies promote Special Olympics through fundraising, volunteering and event coordination, Hann said.
