HANNIBAL -- Applications are due by August 26 for persons who want to take part in the Fourth Annual Deer Hunt for Persons with Disabilities at the Indian Creek Recreation Area at Mark Twain Lake. Waterfowl hunters who hope to reserve blinds at Conservation Department land areas have to get their applications in between Aug. 15 and Sept. 15.

Eighteen participants will be accepted for the deer hunt Nov. 23 and 24 at Mark Twain Lake. Participation is limited to permanently disabled (non-ambulatory and semi-ambulatory) persons with valid 1991 Missouri Firearms Deer Hunting Permits and hunter safety cards. Any-deer tags will be provided by the Conservation Department, and hunters will be assisted to and from blinds by volunteers from area Lions Clubs.

Applications cards are now available for waterfowl hunting at Fountain Grove, Ted Shanks, Montrose, Duck Creek, Marais Temps Clair, Bob Brown and Grand Pass wildlife areas and Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge. Applications will not be accepted before Aug. 15 or after Sept. 15.
